Antalya Archaeological Museum
The province of Antalya is endowed with the richest natural and historic treasures of Turkey. This large province includes a long coastal strip on the Mediterranean .and fertile lands inland. It also includes the ancient regions of Lycia, Pamphylia, Cilicia, and Psidia which from the most interesting archeological sites where uninterrupted history from the traces of tlıe earliest man to the present can be found. The invaluable conrete evidence attesting to the regions's history is displayed at the Anlalya Museum which ranks third among Turkey's historical and archacolog museum after the İstanbul and Ankara Museums.
The Antalya Museum is among the leading museums of the world on account of its sculptur Works from the Roman period and unique finds found duringthe rescue exactions of the museum. In Antalya, which is a unique open air museum with is archeological richness and the international excavation center, many excavations and researches have been carried out by Turkish, German, American, French, Austrian and English archaeologists and science comissions. Most of the rescue excavations in the region and the environmental arrangement have been performed by the curators of the museum.
Upper Düden waterfalls, carved by the Düden River located about 10 kilometres (7.5 mi) north of Antalya City Center; Cave of Wishes located underneath the waterfalls providing spectacular view of this botanical heaven behind the falling water. Düden rivers crystal clear spring waters meets Mediterranean Sea at the Lower Düden waterfalls after a short run of eight kilometers from North to South.
Hadrian`s gate is the most important and one of the best preserved historical monument in Antalya city center. Three arches on Corinthian columns standing since 130 A.D. following the Emperor`s stay in the city. It was the only entrance through the city walls at that times.
